Dental implants may be permanent with routine maintenance visits. In the implant procedure an artificial tooth root, made from titanium, is surgically implanted into your jawbone. As your jaw heals, the bone tissue forms a strong connection with the implant, holding it firmly in place.
Once the implant has set, we’ll attach a crown or implant-supported bridge to the implant to restore the missing tooth. Because the implant is connected to your bone tissue, it prevents your jawbone from deteriorating due to the loss of your tooth.
A dental implant is permanent. If the crown breaks or wears out we can simply replace it with a new crown mounted to the implant.
